WPL305 has flashing red or amber lights when powered on

This article lists common problems and some suggested solutions.  Problems are indicated by the LED light pattern.

1. Check the power connection.  

 - Turn on the power switch.

 - Check if the green LED is lit on the power supply.  If not the power supply may be broken

 - Check both power connections from the power cord to the power supply and from the power supply to the printer power jack.

 

2.The printer has the wrong power adapter.

 - The power adapter should read EDAC EDACPOWER ELEC. The WPL305 printer requires DC Output of 24V, 3.75A. The power supply in the picture shows 18-24V, 4.75A, which will also work.

3. The printer is out of label or ribbon or the printer settings are not correct

Out of label or ribbon

 - Load a roll of labels and follow the instructions in the Loading the Labels Section of the Manual, then press the feed button to resume printing.

 - Load a ribbon and follow the instructions in the Loading the Ribbon Section of the Manual, then press the feed button to resume printing.

Printer setting is not correct

 - Initialize the printer by following the instructions in the Power on Utilities Section of the Manual.
