If you are scanning barcodes containing <RS> characters (ASCII 30), but your software is not receiving those characters from the 4500 scanner, please scan Enable Keypad Emulation on page 3-8 of the scanner's user guide. This will slow the scanner down slightly but the data will contain the RS characters.
