InventoryControl: QuoteWerks is unable to access the database

in Version 7

To import the items, the user needs to connect to the database through QuoteWerks using the InventoryUser account. However, we have found that the default InventoryUser password is too long for QuoteWerks. Therefore, it is advised that anyone using the QuoteWerks Connector should shorten their InventoryUser password to 14 or fewer characters. The below instructions will set the password to 9 characters, but if this will not pass your security requirements, please contact Wasp Support for assistance.
On the server machine, download and extract https://dl.waspbarcode.com/wasp/supportfiles/QWUser.zip

1. Run CreateQWUser.bat to update the password in SQL Server. If you are using the Enterprise version of InventoryControl with full version SQL, you will need to first edit CreateQuoteWerksUser.wql with Notepad to enter the correct SQL instance name on the Server line, and the correct password for your sa account.

2. If you are running 32 bit Windows, run QWUser32.reg. If you are using 64 bit Windows, run QWUser64.reg. It will prompt to be sure you want to allow the change at least once, but possibly twice depending on your security settings. Say Yes on both prompts.

3. Copy the QWUser32.reg or QWUser64.reg file to each client machine and run on all clients.

4. On the server machine, go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Right click Wasp Inventory Windows Service and select Stop. Wait 15 seconds, then right click on it and select Start.

You should now be able to proceed with the QuoteWerks import process using the shorter password of Mobile@07.
