Does the WWS800 or WWS850 device support the Encryption of Bluetooth transmissions either via the base/charger dock or using a third party Bluetooth PC adapter?

The scanner does use standard Bluetooth encryption when used with a third party Bluetooth adapter. The encryption is only as strong as the Pin. You can turn off broadcasting once the scanner is paired, but this has to be done manually by scanning the bar code in the user guide.

The scanner with the base does not have any encryption, but does use a proprietary communication between the scanner and the base.

This article applies to the WWS 800 & WWS 850 scanner.
