WWS800 & WWS850 Freedom scanner: How to eliminate the "leading 0" on UPC scans.

Follow the steps below to eliminate leading 0's from UPC scans. These instructions are for both the WWS800 and the WWS850 scanners.

You will find the barcodes used in these steps on pages 33-34 of the most recent manual. Older version of the manual have slightly different page numbers. If the UPCA Parameter codes are not on page 33-34, look for the section titled UPCA Parameters.

To remove leading 0's from UPC scans:

  1. Scan the Enter Setup barcode at the bottom of page 34.
  2. In the UPCA Parameters section, scan the Disable barcode under Convert to EAN13.
  3. Scan the Update barcode at the bottom of page 33.
