By default, the scanner sends these characters as control-key combinations, which works for most applications. However, Word and Excel do not properly interpret those codes. To have the scanner send the codes in a method the Office applications will recognize, download and print the linked document and scan the Enable HT/CR/ESC output as Tab/Enter/Escape barcode.

If you need to turn this function back off, scan the Disable barcode.
