If you are receiving this error, reset the scanner by going to Start > Settings > System > Scanner > To Kpd. Uncheck Start Scan2Key When Exit and Click OK. Go to Start > Settings > System > Scanner > To Kpd again and check Start Scan2Key When Exit, then click OK again to complete.
