WMR1200 - Error: Not decoding properly. I'm seeing lots of unprintable ASCII characters when I swipe a card

Check the DIP switches on the underside to make sure they are set as follows:

If your PC has a PS/2 style keyboard port (about the diameter of a pencil):

     SW2 and SW8 should be set to "OFF"

     All the other switches should be set to "ON"

     (These are the factory default settings.)

If your PC has a PC/AT style keyboard port (about the diameter of a dime):

     SW2, SW4 and SW8 should be set to "OFF"

     All the other switches should be set to "ON"

At this writing, the instructions given for Switch 4 on page 6 of the WMR-1200 User's Guide are incorrect.   Follow the instructions above, instead.
