WLS9600: LED blinks green and there is no beam emitted when the trigger is pulled

After scanning an interface configuration barcode from the WLS9600 Quick Reference Guide (for example, the USB-COM-STD barcode), the LED light blinks green and no beam is emitted when the trigger is pulled.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Pull the scanner trigger for 5 seconds to change to a state that allows programming with barcodes (as mentioned on page 15 of the Quick Reference Guide).
  2. Scan the Select USB Keyboard barcode from page 17 of the Quick Reference Guide to return the scanner to normal operations.

Note: We have received reports of this symptom, and found there were multiple icons in the Devices and Printers control panel that referenced the same scanner. After removing those, then unplugging and replugging the scanner into the PC, normal scanning function returned.

The WLS9600's Product Reference Guide and Quick Reference Guides can be downloaded from the "Scanner User Manuals" link below in Related Pages.
