WLS8600: LED blinks green and there is no beam emitted when the trigger is pulled

After scanning an interface configuration barcode from the WLS8600 Quick Reference Guide (for example, the USB-COM barcode), the LED light blinks green and no beam is emitted when the trigger is pulled.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Unplug the USB cable from the PC, wait 5 seconds, then replug.
  2. Pull the scanner trigger for 5 seconds to change to a state that allows programming with barcodes. The green LED should turn off.
  3. Scan the USB-KBD barcode from page 5 of the Quick Reference Guide (if needed, see the User Manuals link in Related Pages below) to return the scanner to normal operations.

Note: We have received reports of this symptom, and found there were multiple icons in the Devices and Printers control panel that referenced the same scanner. After removing those, then unplugging and replugging the scanner into the PC, normal scanning function returned.
