Multiple scanners: Remove characters ]C1 from the beginning of GS1-128 barcodes

Authors list

This article applies to multiple scanner models. When scanning GS1-128 barcodes (formerly known as UCC-128 or EAN-128) the scanner transmits ]C1 at the beginning of the scanned data. This is the AIM ID of the GS1-128 symbology.

To prevent the scanner from sending this AIM ID, use the page numbers from your model's Programming Reference Guide (linked below in Related Pages) to follow the instructions below:
WDI4200, printed page 71 (PDF page 79) - scanner can read from screen or printed page
WDI4600, printed page 47 (PDF page 57) - scanner can read from screen or printed page
WLS9600, printed page 54 (PDF page 64) - scanner can only scan from printed page

Scan these barcodes:
Enter/Exit Programming Mode
GS1-128 AIM ID = Disable
Enter/Exit Programming Mode

Then try your GS1-128 barcode again. The ]C1 AIM ID should no longer appear.
