While you can send straight printer control codes to the printer, the easiest way to do what you are asking is to purchase the BarcodeMaker product. This will allow you to create and print barcodes in Word, Excel, etc. via a toolbar that BarcodeMaker adds to these applications. BarcodeMaker is compatible with 32-bit versions of Office XP (2002), Office 2003, and Office 2007.
