MobileAsset v6.3 on HC1: Launching app gives .NET CF Initialization Error

Symptoms

  • After sending the MobileAsset components to HC1 (MDG model), launching the program on the device gives the following error:

    .NET CF Initialization Error
     
    The application failed to 
    load required components. 
    If the .NET Compact 
    Framework is installed on a 
    storage card, please ensure 
    that this card is in place and 
    launch the application again. 
    If this fails, a re-installation 
    of the .NET Compact 
    Framework is 
    recommended. Support info:

  • Clean booting and reinstallation of MobileAsset to the device does not resolve the error.

  • The firmware of the HC1 is v1.7.

    How to check the firmware version:
    a. On the device's keyboard, press Function and 9 keys at the same time.
    or
    b. Start, Settings, System, Device Setting, Info tab.

    The first line "OS Version" is the firmware version.

Resolution

Update the firmware to version 1.12.1 following this article:
