WPA206 - How to: Refresh Mobile DB - Is there a way to reset the database on the handheld unit (WPA206) back to zero or to factory default?

There are two ways to do a hard reset, or cold boot, on the WPA 206.  Both methods will wipe all data from the handheld and return it to its factory default settings.

Method 1.  From the desktop, open [My Computer] -> Utilities -> [BootMode].  Hold down the left arrow key beneath the ESC key on the keypad, and press the button [Warm Boot].  You will be warned of data loss at this point.  Press YES to proceed.

Method 2.  Flip the unit over.  On the back of the device, use the screwdriver in the stylus to remove the screws from the top compartment which hosts the compact flash memory card.  Do not remove the cover from the lower battery compartment.  Be careful not to lose the two tiny screws.  Remove the compartment cover.  There is a hole inside the compartment that is just like the RESET hole.  Use a paper clip to poke the hole to cold boot, or hard reset, the unit.

Whichever way you hard reset the device, you will be asked to recalibrate the screen and set up the date and time.  If you do not see these two steps following the hard reset, your device has not successfully been cold booted.  If this is the case, repeat 1 of the 2 methods above.
