- The Wasp MobileAsset Windows Service is installed and running on Windows Server 2012 or Windows 10.
- When you try to install MobileAsset to a Windows Mobile/CE device, the device gives Error 2: cannot create process. Failed to install.
Note: If you are receiving this error without the other symptoms, see the related info article below.
- If the components are installed manually to the WM/CE device, the sync process begins, but gives error Progress 2 of 3: Failed to generate database file. This may also happen with Android and iOS devices.
- The WaspMobileAssetServices.log file contains an error similar to the following:
2014-10-30 11:25:16.895 21 --------------- ERROR | SDFDataLoader LoadData() exception error: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Data.SqlServerCe, Version=126.96.36.199, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
The version of SQL Server CE Compact Framework (SSCERuntime-ENU-x86.msi) included with the MobileAsset installer is not compatible with this version of Windows.
On the PC running the Wasp MobileAsset Windows Service, download and install Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 Service Pack 2 from this link:
Note: For Enterprise edition customers who have the database and service on different PCs: This update needs to be installed on the service PC. Installation on the database PC is not necessary (but will not hurt anything if you do).
Follow the Install Instructions on that page; as it states, for 64-bit Windows, first install the 32-bit (x86) component, then install the 64-bit (x64) component. For 32-bit Windows, install only the 32-bit component.
After the updated component(s) are installed, stop the Wasp MobileAsset Windows Service, wait 30 seconds, then start the service again.
